Biography
Franz Johann Dela Merced (aka zemzelett) is an up-and-coming graphic designer and struggling comic book artist who wanders through the streets of Vancouver looking for a new lease on life. In his journeying did he gain arcane knowledge of Adobe® Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, After Effects, Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro. He aims to eventually move towards his life-long goal of becoming a formidable creative force in the animation industry, all while trying to become the world’s greatest comic book artist.
A repentant blog flamer and Epimethean, zemzelett attempts to ensure that future generations will not repeat his mistakes by establishing ratatosk.telecom, the blog about monkeys human communication.
When he’s not busy writing or drawing comics, zemzelett indulges in bowling, videogames, reading, watching TV, and trying to justify his existence in general. His musical interests include jazz, J-pop, funk, ska, bossa nova, Broadway, and classical music. He gets artistic influences from a wide range of artists, including Yoshitoshi Abe (Serial Experiments Lain), Tetsuya Nomura (Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts), Scott Adams (Dilbert) and Bill Watterson (Calvin and Hobbes), just to name a few. His abrasive personality, indecipherable accent, and his penchant for eating gummi bears and spicy dumplings have earned him the admiration of millions (or their hatred, I forget which).
